Jaarlijks publiceert het Amerikaanse onderzoeksbureau Vault een lijst van de ‘beste’ consultancy bedrijven actief in Europa: de Vault Consulting Firms Europe Ranking.
Voor het eerst publiceert Vault twee verschillende rankings: haar traditionele ranking op basis van ‘prestige’ en een nieuwe tweede ranking op basis van ‘goed werkgeverschap’.

Vault baseert haar rankings op input van meer dan 2,000 consultants in Europa over alle adviesbureaus en rangen. Adviseurs kunnen hun eigen adviesbureau niet beoordelen.
Best Consulting Firms to Work For: Bain & Company
Bain & Company is volgens adviseurs het beste adviesbureau om voor te werken. Bain scoort het hoogst op o.a. de volgende gebieden ‘compensation, selectivity, training, overall satisfaction, diversity, selectivity, business outlook en leadership’. Opvallend is dat er relatief veel strategy consultingadviesbureaus in top 10 voorkomen.
Best Prestige: McKinsey & Company
De prestige ranking wordt al jaren gedomineerd door McKinsey. McKinsey & Company wordt door consultants gezien als “the crème de la crème,” “the market leader,” “still the gold standard,” en “the original consultants”. McKinsey scoort ook heel hoog in de competentie gebieden van de ranking, o.a. de gebieden Business Advisory, Economic, Energy, Financial, Operations en Health Care.
